Dr. McCann is a leading optometrist, entrepreneur, and practice management expert with a passion for leveraging data and technology to enhance patient care and business success. With over a decade of experience owning and operating multiple optometric practices, Dr. McCann brings real-world insights into how data-driven decision-making can transform optometric businesses.

  

A graduate of Nova Southeastern University, where he earned both his Doctor of Optometry and an Accelerated MBA, Dr. McCann combines clinical expertise with business acumen. His leadership extends beyond his own practices—he has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of Optometrists and currently holds a leadership role at Eye Recommend.

  

As a Key Opinion Leader and Consultant for top industry Dr. McCann regularly lectures at global conferences on topics ranging from ocular disease management to practice efficiency and growth strategies.        

Debbie Jones, BSc(hons), FCOptom, FAAO, FBCLA

  

  

Dr. Debbie Jones is a Clinical Professor at the School of Optometry & Vision Science and a Lead Clinical Scientist at the Centre for Ocular Research & Education (CORE) at the University of Waterloo. 

With nearly 25 years of experience in optometric education, clinical practice, and research, she is a recognized authority in pediatric optometry and myopia control.

Trained in the United Kingdom, Dr. Jones was previously a partner in an award-winning private practice before transitioning into academia. She is a Fellow of the British College of Optometrists, the British Contact Lens Association, and the American Academy of Optometry, underscoring her deep commitment to advancing optometric science and patient care.

Dr. Jones' research focuses on myopia management, pediatric vision, and public education, with numerous publications in leading optometric journals.  

Trevor Miranda, OD

 Dr. Trevor Miranda is a seasoned optometrist, entrepreneur, and mentor, with over 25 years of experience in independent practice ownership and leadership. A graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, he has dedicated his career to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of innovation and mentorship in optometry. 

Based on Vancouver Island, Dr. Miranda operates five thriving optometric practices in the Cowichan Valley, where he has built a reputation for progressive practice management, patient-first care, and leadership development. His contributions to the profession were recognized in 2015, when he was named Optometrist of the Year by the British Columbia Association of Optometrists.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Miranda is a thought leader in optometric business management, regularly contributing to the Optometry Unleashed Podcast and Eye Care Business Canada on topics related to leadership, team engagement, and independent practice success. His expertise in change management and organizational leadership makes him a sought-after speaker for professionals navigating practice transformation and staff development.  

Anita Voisin, OD 

Dr. Voisin is a highly experienced optometrist and practice leader, known for her expertise in integrating new technologies, optimizing workflows, and leading teams through change in independent optometric practices. A graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry (1997), Dr. Voisin began her career in Oshawa, Ontario, before relocating to Vancouver Island, where she joined Dr. Trevor Miranda at Cobble Hill.  

Dr. Voisin is passionate about improving the quality of life for her patients and is actively engaged in public education on eye health. She regularly speaks to local organizations about the importance of vision care and is a dedicated member of the Chemainus Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Chemainus.

As an experienced practice owner, Dr. Voisin has been instrumental in navigating practice growth and transformation, including implementing new Practice Management Systems (PMS) and optimizing patient care strategies. She understands the challenges of introducing new technologies while maintaining seamless day-to-day operations.
